EDITOR’S NOTES This letter is clearly read in many high places, as shortly after it was suggested here that the dreaded vuvu may grace Wimbledon, the All England Club realised what was coming and banned every single one! Of course someone else may have mentioned it to them as well, but this column tries to be a tad prescient sometimes. However-HORRORS! -we now know that some of you local chaps aren’t reading this at all. Vernon, who is also Vice President for Security and Espionage, has embedded in the Newsletter some natty stuff that reports back on readership. And, we know where you live!!!
Vernon has made the Newsletter very much more “with it”-we hope you all like the smart new format.
I am writing this with under a week to go to the end of footie. Will we miss it? Reckon so. Was it great? Reckon so. Did I wear my anti vuvu ear muffs? Yes, indeed, very successfully, but was outshone by a lady nearby wearing a HUGE pair of Christmas ones-sort of ideal snow gear…drat.
And final thought-its going to be fun watching the various authorities spinning inbound tourist/visitor numbers to prove something or other. As usual, the tourism /hospitality industry will no doubt continue to treat any such numbers with great suspicion!
See you around

MEETINGS JULY 13
This event will be at in Canal Walk. The return part of the dreaded Koeberg intersection is now open, which makes S Suburbs access a while lot easier. And of course it will be footie hangover time-good stories? Sob stories? Come and see. Loren Rutherford of Nomad Tours is co- sponsoring the event, and providing the wine, so please support her by attending. It may give you some food for thought (pardon the pun) in terms of a future sponsorship.
